There is no China start-up visa. But there are several city based initiatives that may come and go. If one city closed a program, another city may establish one. Especially 3rd tier cities can sometimes be very interested in getting high-tech talent.
\nSince 2018, China has been piloting the entrepreneur visa \u521b\u4e1a\u7b7e\u8bc1\u3002, or to name it in full, the \u2019Private Residence Permit (entrepreneurship) visa\u2019. As of 2021, this visa is also available in Shenzhen.<\/p>\n

Notably, under the business startup visa, an applicant will be required to submit an entrepreneurship or investment related certificate from certain economic development zones, high-tech parks, or corporate incubator spaces designated by the government.<\/p>\n

The following people are eligible to apply for the business startup visa:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Foreign students who have the willingness to innovate and start a business in Shanghai and graduated from a higher education institution in China;
\n\u2022 Foreigners planning to invest in Shanghai or innovate in business; and
\n\u2022 Excellent overseas graduates from top Chinese universities or world-renowned universities who have been graduated for no more than two years but have made outstanding achievements in innovation and entrepreneurship in Shanghai.
\n\u2022 The applicant must provide an innovative business plan and show their intent to invest in this plan. Agreeing to work in a business incubator upon arrival may also be required.
\n\u2022 Foreign students studying in a Chinese university who have an innovative business plan related to the government-designated science and technology parks, incubators, and maker spaces in specific areas such as Changning and Yangpu in Shanghai.
\n\u2022 Recent high-calibre foreign graduates from top universities in either China or abroad who have made outstanding achievements in innovation and entrepreneurship (they must have only graduated up to 2 years ago).<\/p>\n
