5 Features a top maildrop / mail forwarding service should have:
- Privacy oriented. Don’t collect more information than necessary. Don’t give our information except if served a court order
- Reasonably priced and no opaque pricing
- Stable. The address should not suddenly change to a different location. Yes, this happens.
- Not obviously a mailbox. Nothing raised more flags than “PO Box, Mailbox, Receiving service” in your address
- If you are lucky, you may be even able to receive your bank statements there. If problems occur, try to give a residential address and the mailbox as a mailing address
Many websites recommend mail forwarding services without having any personal experience with them, often basing their recommendations on superficial research. A quick Google search and some copying and pasting can easily result in a list. However, we have carefully selected a few reliable mail forwarding services to recommend here.
Our mailboxes are suited for RVers, Digital Nomads, Privacy Seekers, Small Business Owners, Home Business Owners, Frequent Business Travelers, Leisure Travelers, Boaters/Cruisers, Merchant Mariners, Traveling Nurses, Missionaries, Adventurers, Athletes, College Students, Entertainers, Expats, Artists, Armed Forces, U.S. Sailors, Retired Military, Skilled Workers, Truckers and Anyone on the go!
USA
Simple. There’s nothing better than SBI Mail. The only downside: Florida has started charging taxes on online orders. Those were the days when everything from eBay and Amazon was tax-free.
Escapees is another excellent option in the US, offering mailboxes, forwarding, and residency (for US residents) in Florida, Colorado, and Texas.
Another mailbox in Florida: MyRVmail.
All of these options are strongly tailored towards RVers, traveling nurses and Boaters/Cruisers. This is exactly why these offers are particularly suitable.
New Zealand
Pirvate Box has been around a long time and always also had a reputation for privacy.
Germany
Simple. By far the best mailbox is mailboxde.com
Recommended by some of our competitors: BPM-Lux. Comparably expensive, went to a change of ownership as far as we know. Not recommended by us.
Honorably mention: Grenzpaket. Mainly for people living in Switzerland. There are some advantages, since not all shops ship to non-EU Switzerland.
Other Countries in Demand
China TipTrans offers at least some kind of forwarding. We have no personal experience with this provider. There are a good deal of mail/package forwarders in Japan (e.g. Blackship), feel free to google.
In some countries, it is notorious hard to find a reliable mailbox / mail forwarding provider that may also receive bank mail etc. The following countries come to mind:
China, Hong Kong, Panama, Brazil. Very difficult to find a reliable service there. And no, the Mailboxes Etc in Panama and Brazil stores are not really an option. If you know any goo d mail forwarding providers that are privacy-oriented, reasonable priced, don’t have “Mailbox, PO BOX” or something in their mail receiving address and have a decent online mail management software, please contact us.
World Wide
ClevverMail tries to open maildrops in many jurisdictions in the world. And there are reasons why you should NOT use them.
Earthclassmail, now part of Legalzoom, is comparatively expensive and is not recommended by us.
Ghostaddress in Wyoming
As recommended by JJ Luna in “How to be invisible. See in our shop.
